Thanks for visiting my illustration site!

I work mostly in gouache and pencils but will pull out my inks, acrylics, crayons, watercolor, glue sticks, twigs, feathers, and printmaking supplies when the mood strikes. My illustrations have appeared in books, magazines, animated videos, on posters, t-shirts, bowls, mugs, murals, and benches, and my clients have included Cameron Kids, Knopf, Google, 23andMe, my mom, and many more. Currently I’m focusing on children’s book illustration, but I am open to all types of projects. I love a new and unexpected illustration challenge, and will draw on anything that doesn’t run away.

I love great drawing, expressive lines, and white space, and am influenced by my favorite classical illustrators and artists like Arnold Lobel, E.H. Shepard, Trina Schart Hyman, Adrienne Adams, Peter Spier, Richard Scarry, Jean de Brunhoff, Paul Goble, Tom Feelings, and Andrew Wyeth. I never get tired of the magical reveal that comes from making something out of nothing.

I live with my family in a little town on the coast of Maine, where every day I am inspired by the rugged beauty of my community and the zany exploits of my daughters. I still can’t do a cartwheel but am pretty fierce on the foursquare court.
